dreams.jpgA Look into the Mysterious World of Dreams.

It's been stated that we spend over half of our lives asleep (this is probably not entirely true, as high school and college students can attest to the fact that they get an average of three hours of sleep a night). While we sleep we have these strange images and elaborate stories that play out in our minds. We call them "dreams" and although not everyone remembers their dreams upon awakening, everyone does in fact dream, every night.
We are woken up in cold sweats and terror from a nightmare that we realize was nothing real to worry about as soon as we spy the interior of our bedroom and the clock that blares red digits, reminding us that we have limited hours before we must wake up for real and begin our day. Or there is the opposite scenario, where we wake up from a lovely dream about kite flying on the beach, and wish we could go back to sleep, as to escape from the harsh winter in the real world. Either way, we think about these dreams for the remainder of the day, attempting to find out the real reason we dreamt them in the first place.

Are they foreshadowing something? Is something bad going to happen soon? Or maybe I’ll get that free trip to Florida from the contest I entered? My inquiry is: why do we dream? What do our dreams mean? This is quite the endeavor to take on, for there are about a thousand different “dream dictionaries” to be purchased, and how can you be for certain that they are telling the truth? How can anyone truly know what a dream means? Inquiring minds want to know, and I have taken on the task of revealing the mysteries of this to you, wish me luck!

Mr. Masson, mostly. He let us choose our own projects so that we're not doing the same old boring thing day after day and we're actually excited about learning. He's let us research whatever we want to so that we can learn to like coming to school again, not wake up with the same dread in our stomachs every morning.
Sylvia Browne, for writing a million books about awesome stuff and just plain being amazing. She opened my mind to many different things that I've never thought would have existed and gave substantial proof that these things could infact be true. Especially the one about dreams, which made me want to research them more.
The Japanese, for inventing the coolest inventions ever. Namely, the machine that can show you what you're dreaming on a screen and the machine that lets you decide what you want to dream about. To read more visit:
